Professor of Political Science and Department Chair
Laurel Elder is a Professor of Political Science at Hartwick College. She teaches a wide array of courses in American politics focusing on public opinion, voting, and elections with specific attention to issues of gender, race, and ethnicity. Her most recent book is The Partisan Gap: Why Democratic Women Get Elected But Republican Women Don’t (NYU Press 2021).
