Clara Mae Barnhart

Clara Mae Barnhart received her Ph.D. in English from Binghamton University, where she worked for ten years as an instructor, advisor, and assistant director of academic advising for Harpur College. Prior to living and working in Binghamton, Clara worked in various settings as a writer, tutor, editorial assistant, and as a staff assistant in residential treatment facilities for teenagers. She earned her BS in Professional Writing at Champlain College in Burlington VT, and grew up not far from Oneonta, in Unadilla, NY. She is passionate about helping students find and maximize their own potential at Hartwick. In her spare time she loves hiking, reading novels, and snuggling with her two dogs.
