Whether it’s through your time, talent, or financial gifts, there are many ways to support Hartwick College. Your engagement makes such a difference to our students, faculty, and staff. Together, We Soar

Invest in our students; Invest in Hartwick.

Hartwick’s goal is not to simply evolve with the higher education landscape.

It’s to lead it.

Make a gift

Every gift matters at Hartwick. Make yours unrestricted to FlightPath or the Hartwick Fund, or designate your support to a scholarship, specific program, athletics, and more. Every gift - current and planned gifts, unrestricted and designated - helps launch our students into satisfying lives and successful careers.

Give your time

When you get involved at Hartwick, you’re supporting our students and our community. Volunteering your time can be the most valuable gift of all. Help out with Hartwick events, be part of our networking days, or become a one-on-one student mentor.

Share your talents

Mentor a student, host an internship or summer job, offer a job shadow opportunity, participate in 15-minute career Q&A sessions, speak to a class, or review students’ resumes and cover letters. It all adds up to one powerful experience for you and our students.

Thinking about another way to give?

Philanthropy at Hartwick takes many forms, each equally important. Whether you make an immediate gift of cash, a multi-year pledge, or an estate gift, your loyalty to Hartwick will make a difference in the lives of this generation of students to come. Thank you for choosing to be involved in the Hartwick College community in this way.

To give by bank electronic transfer or direct deposit, please contact Institutional Advancement at 607-431-4081 or [email protected] for the appropriate routing and account numbers.

To make a gift of securities: Gifts of securities either held by your bank or brokerage or held by you offer significant tax advantages for alumni, parents, and friends. The gift process is simple.

Hartwick College works closely with Community Bank N.A. in Oneonta, NY, to accept gifts of appreciated stock and securities. This relationship enables us to record your gifts and apply them as quickly as possible. Brokerage accounts and detailed instructions for making gifts of securities are provided below.

For gifts of mutual funds, please contact Community Bank at 607-433-4122.

If you need more information, please contact Institutional Advancement at 607-431-4081 or [email protected].

Community Bank N.A.
245 Main Street
Oneonta, NY 13820
607-433-4122
Attention: Trust Services
Community Bank N.A. Account Number: 572497
DTC# 901

If the securities are held by your bank or broker and you are making the transfer electronically via the Depository Trust Co. (DTC) system, please contact Institutional Advancement to let us know you are making a transfer and which broker you are using. (Because electronic transfers are made without identifying the donor, knowing in advance that you intend to transfer securities minimizes the risk of your gift being delayed.) Next, contact your broker and instruct the transfer of your gift via DTC to the account listed above.

If you hold the securities in certificate form, you may mail the securities and stock powers (one for each stock certificate) in separate envelopes to Institutional Advancement. Please be certain to have your signature(s) on the stock powers guaranteed by a certified bank officer and complete the section indicating the name of the stock, the number of shares, and the certificate number(s).

Note: Donating your appreciated stocks or securities directly to the College rather than selling the stock yourself and donating the proceeds can result in a bigger tax deduction for you and a larger gift to the College.

To make a planned gift: To notify us of the inclusion of Hartwick College in your estate plans or to get more information on the options available to you by making a planned gift, please contact Director of Planned Giving Patricia Dopazo at 607-431-4020 or [email protected].
