What We Do
Health Promotion Student Learning Outcomes
- To provide effective programming that will help students in the life-long development of a healthy lifestyle.
- To provide information on a personal and campus-wide level that will enhance the growth and development of the Hartwick community.
- To prepare the Hartwick community to be well informed about issues that will assist them in making responsible decisions related to personal life choices.
How We Do It
We provide opportunities for personal growth and development by engaging and connecting the entire Hartwick community. We conduct campus-wide awareness campaigns for Love Your Body Week, World AIDS Day, Safe Spring Break Week, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, Bras Across Campus and others. Our events include informational fairs, community events, free giveaways, Zumbathons, and more.
Student wellness is a core component of the academic experience. All students complete two course credits in wellness, which can be achieved through a diverse range of wellness courses focused on enhancing both physical and mental health.
These experiences are designed to promote lifelong habits of well-being and holistic health.
Who We Are
In addition to the staff of the Office of Wellness & Health Promotion, we also incorporate a Peer Health Educators program.
Peer Health Educators-lead programs and events on topics such as alcohol and other drugs, relationships and healthy sexuality, nutrition, sleep, and other health-related topics. These may take a number of forms, from interactive to peer-facilitated discussion.
