There are countless places for students to earn a degree. To stand out, our environment must be truly distinct. We are well on our way, with breathtaking views from Oyaron Hill, Pine Lake and our beloved trails, as well as our legacies in athletics and the arts. Still, we can go further in nurturing our vital community of students, scholars and staff who ensure that learning takes place across campus and beyond.
To help students map their unique paths, they must have numerous ways to practice and explore. With structured guidance, flexible goals and a satisfying sense of belonging, Hartwick provides a vibrant, inviting community where success feels natural and inevitable.
To maintain this, we must invest in our people and places. Our environments must be attractive in their form and function, and our leaders and instructors must inspire confidence while fostering a culture where conversation, exploration and inquiry are valued. Doing so ensures that students connect and flourish.

Gathering Spaces
Creating intentional and creative spaces for students to come together, stretch their wings and inspire personal and professional ambitions.
Athletics Facilities
With 31% of students participating in one or more sports, we must provide competitive training facilities, in addition to recreation and fitness options for our students, staff, and neighbors.
Environmental Experience
An investment to sustain and enhance the Pine Lake Environmental Center and the Table Rock Trails; two unique features of a Hartwick experience that allow students and our neighbors to connect with nature and develop the knowledge to support people and our planet.
Center for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging
We will enhance our community of learners and thinkers by investing in programming and partnerships that promote inclusion, encourage dialogue, build cultural awareness, value perspectives and empower marginalized people.
