Hartwick College is pleased to announce the appointment of Steven W. Dwire as the new executive director of financial aid and student accounts, effective September 3.
Dwire joins Hartwick with a distinguished career in financial aid, bringing over 28 years of experience in higher education financial services.
In this expanded role, Dwire will lead a unified office that integrates financial aid and student accounts operations with a focus on enhancing the student experience. He will oversee the administration of federal, state and institutional financial aid programs while also ensuring that student billing processes are seamless and transparent. Dwire will work collaboratively with departments across the College to develop strategies that align financial aid and student accounts functions with Hartwick’s enrollment, retention and revenue goals.
“I am honored to join Hartwick College and look forward to serving its students and families,” said Dwire. “Navigating the financial aid process can be challenging, but I am committed to providing the guidance and support needed to help students achieve their educational goals.”
Dwire comes to Hartwick from The College of Saint Rose, where he served for 21 years, most recently as the assistant vice president of financial aid. Prior to his time at Saint Rose, he held the position of assistant director of financial aid at Middlebury College. Dwire earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Vermont and his master’s in business administration from The College of Saint Rose.
Throughout his career, Dwire has been an active member of the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association, where he served as treasurer for several years and was recognized with two service awards for his outstanding contributions to the field.
Bryan Gross, vice president for enrollment management and athletics at Hartwick, expressed his enthusiasm for Dwire’s appointment.
“We are thrilled to welcome Steve to Hartwick,” said Gross. “His extensive experience and deep commitment to student success will be invaluable as we continue to enhance our financial aid and student accounts services. I look forward to working closely with Steve to ensure that our students have access to the financial resources and seamless account management they need to thrive at Hartwick.”
