Walsh ’10 and Clark to Present Work at Hartwick College’s Visiting Writers Series

This spring, poet Brendan Walsh ’10 and novelist C. L. Clark will participate Hartwick College 2020–21 Visiting Writers Series. The readings will be held via Zoom, and are free and open to the public.

Walsh will read from his work on Wednesday, March 24 at 7 p.m.

He graduated from Hartwick College in 2010 with a degree in English-Creative Writing and has lived and taught in South Korea, Laos, and South Florida. Walsh’s work has recently appeared in American Literary Review, Glass Poetry, Indianapolis Review, minnesota review, Rattle, and other journals. He is the author of five books and chapbooks of poetry, including Go (Aldrich, 2016), Buddha vs. Bonobo (Sutra, 2017), and fort lauderdale (Grey Book, 2019). His next collection, concussion fragment, is forthcoming from NightBallet Press.

Clark will read from her recently released debut novel, The Unbroken (Orbit, 2021), on Wednesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. The Unbroken is the first book in the Magic of the Lost trilogy.

Clark graduated from Indiana University’s creative writing MFA and was a 2012 Lambda Literary Fellow. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in FIYAH, PodCastle, Uncanny, and Beneath Ceaseless Skies. She has also been a personal trainer, an English teacher, an editor, and has traveled the world. When not writing or working, Clark studies languages and reads about war and (post-)colonial history.
