Teaching Licensure Reciprocity
Regulation Summary
New federal regulations effective July 1, 2020, require institutions offering programs leading to professional licensure or certification to provide notifications that indicate whether or not the program, regardless of modality (either online or face-to-face) meets educational requirements for licensure/certification in a given state.
The regulation requires the following information be made available to enrolled and prospective students:
- Disclosure of all states for which the institution’s curriculum meets the educational requirements for professional licensure or certification.
- Disclosure of all states for which the institution’s curriculum does not meet the educational requirements for professional licensure.
- Disclosure of all states for which the institution has not made a determination of whether the curriculum meets the educational requirements.
